2009 CROSS COUNTRY: Ran in four events ... Captured second place in the open division at the Bronco Invitational, completing the 5K course in 18:59.00 ... Was the Gators’ top runner at the NCAA West Regional, finishing 34th after logging a season-best 6K time of 22:48.60 ... Also turned in a 34th-place showing at the CCAA Championships (24:22.30) ... Made her 2009 harrier debut at the SF State Invitational, crossing the finish line in 24:28.90 to place 69th.
2009 TRACK: Posted the Gators’ eighth-fastest time ever in the 5,000 meters (18:30.22) at the UC Davis Woody Wilson Classic ... Turned in a season-best effort of 4:52.37 in the 1,500 at the Beach Invitational ... Also competed at the CCAA Championships ... Jumped into third place on SF State’s indoor performance list in the 3,000 after a season-fast clocking of 10:47.37 at the Husky Classic.
PRIOR TO SF STATE: Transferred from the University of Southern Mississippi where she was a two-year competitor in cross country and track ... Finished 33rd at the Conference USA Cross Country Championships in 2005 ... Recipient of the C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal ... Graduated in 2004 from Spain Park High School in Hoover, Ala. ... Earned four varsity letters in both cross country and track ... Served as team captain for both sports ... Was an all-state honoree in cross country and also garnered all-state accolades in the 3,200 meters (outdoor), the 1,600 (outdoor) and the 4x800 relay (outdoor) ...
