Biography

2009-10: Recorded 12 victories during his junior campaign … Ranked fifth on the team with 38 escapes … Qualified for the national meet for the second time in three seasons after a third-place finish in the 149-pound weight class at the NCAA Division II Super Regional 4/Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 27) … Posted four victories in the consolation bracket at the tournament, including a pin of Mesa State’s Tyler Juby in the third-place match … Managed a 3-0 record, including a pair of wins by major decision at the Grand Canyon Duals (Jan. 23) … Defeated Alex Kontz of then-No. 9 St. Cloud State, 5-1, at the prestigious NWCA National Duals (Jan. 9) … Recorded a tight 3-2 decision over Miguel Comparan of Division I Cal State Bakersfield in a home dual meet (Jan. 29) … Also came away with two victories at the Fullerton Open (Nov. 21).

2008-09: Battled a shoulder injury throughout the season, finishing with a 5-6 overall record ... Notched a perfect 3-0 mark at the Embry-Riddle Duals, including a major decision over Alex Stemmer of Simon Fraser ... Helped the Gators knock off Division I Air Force after handing the Falcons’ Alec Williams an 8-4 defeat ... Also contributed to SF State’s victory over Oklahoma City with a major decision against the Stars’ Will Shelton.

2007-08: Posted a 16-20 record in his first season at SF State ... Qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships after recording a fifth-place finish at the West Regional/RMAC meet ... Helped the Gators defeat Menlo with a 9-3 decision over the Oaks’ Sabas Cruz.

PRIOR TO SF STATE: Graduated from Quincy High School in 2007... North Section Champion in 2006 ... Was a four-time CIF North Section finisher ... Captured the Greater Mountain Valley League championship in 2007 ... Also played baseball, soccer, and football for the Trojans.
