Ryan Wilson joined the San Francisco State baseball coaching staff for the 2022-23 season. He will work closely with the Gator pitching staff.
Wilson recently completed his undergraduate degree at Pepperdine. While finishing up his degree, Wilson served as an undergraduate assistant coach for the 2022 season. As an undergraduate assistant, Wilson assisted the Pepperdine Pitching Coach with player assessments and development.
Wilson was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 33rd round in 2017. The southpaw played for the organization until 2021. A three-year letterwinner at Pepperdine, Wilson earned All-WCC Freshman team honors in 2015 and All-WCC Second Team Honors in 2016. During his 2016 campaign, Wilson posted a 0.63 ERA, a 2-0 record, six saves and one complete game performance. He finished his career at Pepperdine with a 3.13 ERA and 187 strikeouts.
Wilson grew up in Carlsbad and played High School ball at Carlsbad HS.
