Biography
2010: Ran in four races during his sophomore campaign ... Was SF State’s top runner in the 8K open event at the Santa Clara Invitational where he finished 30th with a 26:44.2 clocking (Oct. 6) ... Established a new personal best with a time of 26:39.20 at the CCAA Championships en route to a 33rd-place showing (Nov. 6).
2009: Participated in four of the Gators’ six scheduled meets during his freshman campaign ... Opened the year with a 14th-place showing at the 4.05-mile CSUMB Invitational (23:51) ... Logged an 8K season-best time of 27:51 at the SF State Invitational.
PRIOR TO SF STATE: Graduated from Saugus High School in 2009 ... Competed in both cross country and track during his prep career ... Helped the Centurions capture three consecutive Foothill League cross country championships from 2006-08, collecting three straight team MVP awards in the process ... Received first-team All-Santa Clarita Valley accolades all four years ... Was voted the Centurions most outstanding distance runner in track from 2006-08 and was a first-team All-SCV selection in 2008-09 ... Garnered track MVP honors as a senior, as Saugus claimed the 2009 league title ... Also earned All-CIF distinction in the Southern Section 3,200 meters.
PERSONAL: Son of Joe and Lisa Jauregui ... Has three sisters, Jenay, Janel and Brianna, who is a fraternal twin ... Enjoys reading, writing and, of course, running.
