Biography
2010 TRACK: Came on strong at the end of the year, placing fourth and fifth in the hammer throw and discus throw, respectively, at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships (May 7-8) … Cracked the top 10 on the Gators’ all-time performance list in those two events, as her season-long distance of 147-00 in the hammer ranks seventh in school history, while her career-best mark of 133-00 in the discus is now 10th … Also posted two third-place finishes in the hammer (143-09) and discus (121-09) at the Soka Peace Invitational (April 17) … Recorded an additional pair of top-five performances in the two events as well at SF State’s Johnny Mathis Invitational (April 3) … Competed in the shot put and weight throw at the UW Husky Open during the indoor campaign (Feb. 14) … Was named to the Gator Athletics Dean’s List following the spring semester.
PRIOR TO SF STATE: Transferred from Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, Calif., where she was named Female Athlete of the Year in 2009 ... Also garnered Athlete of the Month honors in March 2009 ... Redshirted as a true freshman at UC Irvine for the 2006-07 campaign ... Graduated in 2006 from Morro Bay High School ... Won the Los Padres League shot put title as a junior in 2005 ... Holds the school’s varsity and junior varsity records in both the shot put and discus throw ... Also played water polo as prep.
PERSONAL: Parents are John and Nadine Freeman ... Has two siblings, Marisa and Robert ... Majoring in Hospitality Management at SF State.
