Zach Beltz

    Volunteer Assistant Track & Field Coach
Zach Beltz joined the SF State track & field coaching staff as a volunteer coach for the 2021-22 season.

Beltz competed collegiately at Southern Oregon, where he focused on jumps. During his time at SOU, Beltz won four consecutive Cascade Conference Championships in the Long Jump and three in the Triple Jump. He was a four-time NAIA All-American (2017, 2018, 2019 Indoor, and 2019 Outdoor), and won a National Championship in the Long Jump in 2019. He broke the school, conference, and conference meet records in his four years at SOU. Beltz graduated from Southern Oregon in 2019 with a degree in Communications.

In 2021, Beltz moved to San Francisco to reconnect with his college coach, Chris Manuele, and begin his post-collegiate track & field career. In the 2021 season, he finished ranked 30th in the United States, just five places out of making the United States Olympic Trials. He plans to compete in the future to make the U.S. National Team for the 2022 World Championships in his hometown of Eugene, Oregon, and possibly beyond that.

Beltz lettered at Elmira High School. He finished his senior season with an Oregon State 4A Championship in the 100 meters and was awarded 4A Male Athlete of the Meet for combined points scored.
