Biography

2010 TRACK: Came on strong at the end of the year, earning All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors after a second-place finish in the discus throw at the conference meet with a season-long distance of 141-00, which ranks fourth in school history … Also logged a fifth-place performance in the hammer throw (138-05) and wound up in 11th in the javelin (103-05) at the CCAA Championships … Posted the squad’s second-best mark in the shot put during the indoor season (36-06.75) at the UW Preview meet (Jan. 16).

PRIOR TO SF STATE: Graduated in 2009 from El Dorado High School ... Earned the track and field squad’s MVP award on three occasions ... Garnered Sac Metro Track Female Athlete of the Year accolades as a senior ... Finished fourth at the CIF championships in the discus throw as senior with a personal-best mark of 143-02 ... Placed 10th in the event at the state meet the year before as a junior ... Was a three-time All-Sierra Valley Conference finisher in the discus and a two-time all-league placer in the shot put ... Captured the discus title at the Stanford Invitational two straight years ... Also competed in cross country as a prep.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Dave Machado ... Has one brother, Greg ... Enjoys watching movies, playing video games and listening to music ... Majoring in graphic design.
