Before San Francisco State: Wrestled one season for Cerritos College… Placed second in California Community College State at 197… Also attended Santa Monica College, which doesn't have a wrestling program… Was a four-year letter winner in high school… Prepped at Palisades… Was a three-time California state qualifier… Placed fifth at the state championships at 195 pounds as a senior… First Team All-Soutern Section… Also won the USS Midway Tournament and West Coast Classic championships… Went 28-5 his senior year after a 43-5 season his junior year, where he also qualified for the state championships… Junior Nationals All-American in Greco-Roman at 86kg… Top-12 finish in U23 nationals in freestyle at 97kg… Wrestled club for Westside Mat Monsters.
