2010-11: Saw action at three tournaments in his first season as a Gator … Recorded a 17-2 victory by technical fall over Cuesta JC’s Carlos Reyes at the Fullerton Open for his first-ever collegiate win (Nov. 20) … Came away with a 12-6 decision over Austin Quarles of Division I Stanford at SF State’s own California Collegiates (Feb. 5) … Also competed as an unattached wrestler at the Mike Clock Senior Open (Nov. 7).

2009-10: Did not compete.

2008-09: Did not compete.

PRIOR TO SF STATE: Graduated in 2008 from Pioneer Valley High ... Was a Pac-7 League champion and a three-time Division IX qualifier ... Earned MVP honors and was named his school’s athlete of the year ... Also competed in football, track and cross country as a prep.

PERSONAL: Son of Eloy and Lisa Ruiz ... Has two brothers. Jonathan and Eloy, Jr. ... Likes to skate, write, and draw ... Majoring in business.
