2010-11: Saw action in seven matches in the 157-pound weight class during his first season as a Gator … Picked up two wins at the Menlo Invitational, featuring a 9-3 decision over the Oaks’ Tylar Clarke and an 8-7 shaving of Southern Oregon’s Dalton Urrita (Jan. 2).

PRIOR TO SF STATE: Graduated in 2010 from Selma High School ... Was a three-time Central Sequoia League and San Joaquin Valley champion ... Qualified for the state meet on three occasions.

PERSONAL: Parents are Ernie and Amanda Escalera ... Has two siblings, Gianna and Ryan ... Intended major is kinesiology.
