David Fierberg joined San Francisco State in 2012. He was promoted to Executive Director of Development in August 2022. In addition to working for Gator Athletics, he supports the Graduate College of Education. He has also worked in the Colleges of Business and Health and Social Sciences. His work focuses on engaging alumni, parents, and friends of San Francisco State Athletics to support our student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
Fierberg has been a fundraiser for his professional career, having worked issue-based organizations, social service agencies, and a K-12 independent school. In 2017, Fierberg gained his Certified Fundraising Executive designation, an internationally recognized accreditation that sets the highest standards in philanthropy through a valid and reliable certification process for philanthropic fundraising professionals.
Fierberg received his BA in history from Lewis and Clark College and his Masters of Nonprofit Administration from University of San Francisco. He and his wife reside in San Francisco and have two grown children.
