Kendrick Mooney joined San Francisco State in September 2021 as director of athletics communications. Mooney serves as the primary communications contact for baseball, cross country, track & field, volleyball, and women's basketball.
 
In her time working in collegiate athletics, Mooney has pitched stories both at the local and national levels and increased social media presence and engagement amongst her programs. Mooney arrives at SF State after spending two years at former CCAA rival UC San Diego, where she served as the primary contact for water polo, swimming, and baseball. Mooney promoted the athletic department's accomplishments during the final season as an NCAA Division II member and in its inaugural season competing at the Division I level. Prior to UC San Diego, Mooney spent a year and a half at Marist College in Upstate New York. She served as the primary volleyball contact and trained a staff of student interns in skills such as game management, writing, and graphic design.

While earning her master's degree in Sports Management from Cal State Long Beach, Mooney worked with a number of organizations and events in Southern California including the Rose Bowl, Stub Hub, the Special Olympics World Games, and the LA Marathon. Mooney graduated from Northwestern in 2013 and was a four-year letter winner on the fencing team. She was a three-time All-Academic Big Ten honoree and competed in NCAA Regionals her junior and senior seasons.
