SF State senior runner Bruk Assefa punched his ticket to the 2013 NCAA Division II National Men's Cross Country Championships that will be in two weeks at the Plantes Ferry Athletic Complex in Spokane, Wash, on Nov. 23. Assefa finished in 10^th place with a time of 32:18 and was the top runner not from one of the top five qualifying teams.

With his 10^th place time, Assefa earned All-West Region honors for the second year in a row. Assefa joined teammate Benji Preciado on the All-West Region Team. Preciado finished in 18^th place with a time of 32:30.5, which was four seconds from qualifying for Nationals.
