Lawson took fourth at the NCAA West Region Championships to qualify for the NCAA National Championships on December 1. He crossed the 10k course in 31:00.19, which was only 20 seconds off the leader Eddie King from No. 4 Chico State, who won the CCAA Championships two weeks ago. His fourth-place finish at the NCAA West Region Championships is the best by a Gator in program history, and is his third-straight top-five finish this season. Lawson becomes the first runner to represent SF State at the NCAA Championships since Bruk Assefa in 2013.
