Despite Pratt's Double-Double Gators Fall at Chico

Tim Pratt Had His First Double-Double as a Gator at Chico State

CHICO, Calif.---  SF State junior forward Tim Pratt (Eureka, California, College of the Redwoods) recorded his first double-double as a Gator, scoring a career-high 21 points and grabbing a career-best 12 rebounds in SF State's 72-60 loss at Chio State (11-7, 7-6 CCAA).  Chico State had four players in double figures, led by Jon Baird's 18 points.

"We're disappointed and frustrated, but there is a high level of determination to get things fixed," said SF State head coach Bill Treseler. "This is a quality group; we need to get to work and back in the fight."

The Wildcats jumped out to a 13-6 lead in the first seven minutes and never looked back.  They increased their lead to 32-20 on a Zach Graves lay-up with 2:10 left in the half.  SF State (13-8, 6-7 CCAA) finished the half outscoring Chico State 4-0, capped by a Pratt basket to cut the lead to 32-24 going into the locker room.  

Chico State started the second half outscoring the Gators 25-13 to increase its advantage to 57-37 with 7:45 left in regulation.  

SF State cut the Wildcat lead to 12 (70-58), but that was the closest the Gators would get as the final was 72-60.  

Chico State shot 45% from the field and held the Gators to 37% from the floor, while forcing SF State into 19 turnovers.  

Derek Fletcher (San Jose, California, Branham) had 12 points and six rebounds for SF State, who out-rebounded Chico State 40-39.  Marquel Hoskins (Beloit, Wisconsin, Reedley College) added 10 points for the visitors along with three steals  The Gators also forced 14 turnvoers by Chico State.

The Gators will continue their four-game road trip this Thursday, Feb.4  in Arcata for a 7:30pm scheduled conference game with Humboldt State.
