Box Score  CHICO, Calif.---  The Chico State Wildcats held the visiting SF State Gators to just 37% shooting from the field while forcing 16 turnovers by their opponents in their 61-44 CCAA victory at Acker Gymnasium on the campus of Chico State.  Sean Park led the Wildcats, who are in a four-way tie for first place in the CCAA, with 13 points.

“Give Chico State credit as they guarded us really well and held Nefi (Perdomo) to just two points,” said SF State Head Coach Paul Trevor.  “We played extremely well in the first half, but our legs caught up to us in the second half as we could not hit a shot.'

Chico State (17-5, 11-5 CCAA) outscored the Gators 20-9 in the first ten minutes of the game, but the visitors came right back with a 16-3 run of their own to cut the lead to 25-23 at the 5:40 mark of the first half. 

The Wildcats ended the half outscoring SF State 7-2 to take a 32-25 lead into halftime.
Chico State increased its lead back to double digits as Sean Park's jumper at the 16:28 mark gave the hosts a 41-30 lead.

Tyler Brown's lay-up capped a 7-1 run by the Gators as they cut the deficit to 41-37 with 11:33 left.  This was the closest that SF State would get as the Wildcats increased their lead back to 11 (49-38) with a little over nine minutes left in the game.  Chico State would cruise to a 61-44 victory.

Besides Park's 13 points, Josh Jackson and Jordan Barton each added 10 points for the Wildcats who just had 9 turnovers on the evening.

James Albright led the Gators (5-17, 3-13 CCAA) with 13 points. 

The Gators will continue their four-game road trip this Friday, February 10 at 7:30pm, when they travel across the Bay to Hayward, Calif., for a CCAA rematch with the Cal State East Bay Pioneers.  SF State defeated the Pioneers 78-72 on January 7 in San Francisco.
