Box Score
CHICO, Calif.---  The Chico State Wildcats shot 51.6% from the field and held the SF State Gators to just 25.9% shooting in the first half to key their 72-50 home CCAA victory this evening at Acker Gymnasium in Chico, Calif.  The Wildcats (7-3, 4-2 CCAA) were led by Rashad Parker's game high 15 points.

“We just did have it this evening,” said SF State head coach Paul Trevor.  “I give Chico State credit as they defended us and shot the ball well.”

Amir Carraway's three gave the Wildcats a 13-3 lead in the first five minutes of the game, a lead they would not relinquish.

SF State (6-4, 4-2 CCAA) cut the Wildcat lead to just five (15-10) on two made free throws by Decensae White at the 10:50 mark of the first half.  That is as close as the Gators would get for the rest of the game.

The hosts would finish off the half outscoring their guests 31-14 in the final ten minutes of the half to take a 46-24 lead into the locker room.

Chico State continued the second half right where the Wildcats left off the first as they outscored SF State 10-6 to take their largest lead of the game, 56-30, with 13:38 left in the game.

Brandon Tatum's made jumper cut the Gator deficit to under 20, 62-43, with 4:49 to go in the game.  That's as close as the visitors would get as the Wildcats cruised to a 72-50 victory.

The Gators out-rebounded the Wildcats 40-33 and held them to just 37% shooting from the field in the second half.  White paced the Gators with 14 points and 10 rebounds, which was his third double-double of the season.  With the loss, SF State is now in a tie for third place with Chico State.

SF State will return to the court this coming weekend for a pair of home games against CCAA opponents Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State L.A.  The Gators will host the Toros this Friday, January 11 at The Swamp.  Then a week from this evening, SF State will host the Golden Eagles.  Both games are scheduled for a 7:30pm tip-off.
