SAN FRANCISCO--- The SF State Gators will return to the court this Friday, Dec. 13 at 7:30pm, when they host Bay Area rival Sonoma State. The Gators are coming off a 1-1 opening weekend in the CCAA. SF State lost 67-50 in its home opener on Dec. 6 and defeated Cal State Stanislaus the next night to improve to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the CCAA.
Nefi Perdomo leads the Gators with his 22.4 scoring average, 11 steals, 10 three-point field goals made and 55.6% shooting from the field.
Will Overton, Jr. is also averaging double digits at 15.8 ppg and leads the team with his 45% shooting from three's. Overton is tied with
Brandon Tatum for the team lead in rebounding averaging 4.8 rebounds per game while Tatum leads the team with his 7 blocked shots. Senior guard
Calvin Otiono has dished out a team high 22 assists while shooting a team best 86.7% from the charity stripe.
The SF State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be holding a
Canned Food Good Drive at this Friday's doubleheader with Sonoma State. Any adult coming to the game with a canned food good will be admitted to the game for $4.00 instead of the $7.00. Any student coming to the game with a canned food good will be admitted free with a valid SF State or Sonoma State student ID. Everyone that brings a canned food item will be entered into a raffle with the winner receiving a $100.00 gift certficate to Stonestown Galleria. Winner will be drawn in the second half of the men's game and needs to be present.
