CARSON –The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros defeated the visiting SF State Gators 2-0 this evening in a CCAA match-up at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.  Ali Nazari scored what proved to be the game-winner for the victors in the 21
st minute of the first half.  
"Once again we came out and did some very nice things," said SF State Head Coach 
Matt Barnes.  "The guys put a lot of good energy into the match and in the end we didn't score our easy chances and Cal State Dominguez Hills capitalized on two of our mistakes."
The Gators (5-4-2, 1-3-1 CCAA) were only outshot by their hosts 16-12 including only 7-6 in the first half.  The guests did own a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. 
SF State had a chance in the first twelve minutes to take the 1-0 lead, but 
Jakob Velega's shot hit the post.  The Toros came right down the pitch after the Gator shot, but Jamie Rios' shot was stopped by the Gators' 
Daniel Boyer in the 15
th minute. 
Five minutes later, the Toros (5-6-1, 3-2 CCAA) took the 1-0 lead on a goal by Ali Nazari off a ball from Jose Vaca and Pedro Velasquez. 
Velega had a chance to tie the match for the Gators, but Chase Gentry preserved the 1-0 lead for the Toros. 
SF State had two more chances to tie the match in the 38
th minute, but Gentry stopped both attempts by 
Cameron DeJong as the match went into halftime with a Toro 1-0 lead. 
Early in the new stanza, the Gators' 
Hayden Roberts saw his shot attempt sail wide in the 55
th minute.  Then six minutes later, the Toros' new keeper (Dylan Roberts) made a save on 
Max Talbert's shot on goal attempt. 
Cal State Dominguez Hills doubled its lead in the 75
th minute on a goal by Daniel Herrera off an assist from Jaime Rios and Velasquez. 
Roberts had two chances in the 78
th minute to cut the Toro lead in half, but both shots either sail wide and the other was blocked.  At the 82
nd minute, 
Daniel Totays saw his header sail wide also as the match remained 1-0 Cal State Dominguez Toros. 
SF State had one more chance to cut into the deficit, but Roberts stopped 
Sam Merritt's shot on goal attempt. 
Boyer had four saves in goal for the Gators while the Toros' two keepers combined for five saves. 
SF State will look to snap its three-match losing streak this Sunday, October 12 at 11:30am in Los Angeles.  The Gators will face Cal State L.A., who is 8-2 overall and 4-1 after defeating Cal State Monterey Bay 2-0 this evening in Los Angeles.
