@SFState_WSOC Fall 1-0 on Golden Goal in 95th Minute to CPP

SAN FRANCISCO– Cal Poly Pomona's Ali Sauve connected on a cross from Megan Kisslan in the 95th minute for the golden goal in the Broncos' 1-0 win over the SF State Gators in a CCAA match-up at Cox Stadium. 
 
The Broncos (9-4, 4-3 CCAA) controlled the match as they held a 24-8 advantage in shot attempts including an 8-2 advantage in shot on goals.  Cal Poly Pomona also held an 11-4 corner kick advantage.
 
Cal Poly Pomona came out strong right away as Melissa Martinez looked like she was going to give the visitors a 1-0 lead, but Allison Land recorded one of her six saves on the day. 
 
SF State (7-6, 2-5 CCAA) had a chance to take the lead, but Alex Palomino's attempt sailed wide right in the 13th minute.  The Gators had another chance in the 20th minute when Elizet Ceja's attempt was stopped by the Broncos' Ricki Ives.  The match went scoreless into the halftime.
 
In the second half, the Broncos' Megan Kisslan had a chance for the match's first goal but Land preserved the scoreless tie.
 
SF State had a chance for the lead in the 67th minute, when Ceja had another attempt be stopped by Ives.
 
 
The Broncos' had a chance for the lead in the 89th minute on Ali Sauve's attempt which was stopped by the Gators' goalkeeper to send the match into the overtime.
 
Cal Poly Pomona came out on fire in the overtime as Kisslan's saw her attempt for the golden goal be stopped by the Gator defense in the 93rd minute.  Then one minute later, Sauve connected on a cross from Kisslan for the game-winner.   
 
SF State will return to the pitch this Sunday, October 19 at 2pm, when the Gators host UC San Diego.  The Tritons defeated Cal State Monterey Bay 1-0 today in Seaside.
