Gators to Have Regular Season Opener at Cal Baptist This Saturday

@SFState_MBB To Have Final Tune-Up Before Saturday's Regular Season Opener

SAN FRANCISCO –  The SF State Gators will travel to San Luis Obispo, Calif., for their final exhibition game of the 2014-15 season tomorrow evening at 7pm against the Cal Poly Mustangs.  They will then travel to Riverside, Calif., this Saturday, November 22 for their regular season opener at 7pm against No. 24 Cal Baptist.

SF State has already faced two Division I institutions in Maryland and Long Beach State in exhibition game.  The Gators lost 86-52 to Maryland on November 1 in College Park, Md.  Then this past Saturday afternoon, SF State lost 74-64 at Long Beach State.  In the two games, Derrick Brown leads the way with his 11.5 scoring average followed by Udun Osakue's 11.0 average.  Osakue is also averaging a team high 7.0 rebounds per game.  Bren Haley has a two to one assist to turnover ratio with 10 assists and 5 turnovers in the two exhibition games.

The Gators will face Cal Poly in their final tune-up before their regular season opener at Cal Baptist.  The Mustangs are 0-1 after losing 65-49 at Nevada this past Saturday. 

SF State's regular season opener opponent, Cal Baptist is 2-0 after defeating Cal State Dominguez Hills (69-43) and Cal State Monterey Bay (106-79).  The Lancers, who are 24th in the nation, are led by Gelaun Wheelwright's 15.5 scoring and 6.5 rebounds per game average. 

After this weekend's game, the Gators will have their home opener on Tuesday, November 25 at 7pm against Academy of Art at SF State's Main Gymnasium at the Don Nasser Family Plaza.
