SAN FRANCISCO – The SF State Gators will end their four-game road trip this weekend with a pair of conference games. The Gators will travel to Chico, Calif., this Friday, January 16 for a game with Chico State. They will then travel south down Route 99 on Saturday, January 17 for a conference match-up with Cal State Stanislaus in Turlock. Both games have 7:30pm scheduled tip-offs.
SF State is coming off a 0-2 weekend in Southern California, when the Gators lost to Cal Poly Pomona (64-32) and UC San Diego (71-58) to fall to 6-6 overall and 4-4 in the CCAA. They are now in a four-tie for sixth place with Cal State L.A., Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State San Bernardino.
As a team, the Gators are averaging 58.4 points per game while giving up 60.9 points per game. They are out-rebounding their opponents 28.8 to 27.3.
Udun Osakue leads the Gators with his 12.4 scoring and 4.8 rebounding average along with his 56.5% shooting from the field. Also in double figures in scoring for SF State is
Derrick Brown at a 10.3 scoring average.
Bren Haley leads the team with his 81.5% shooting from the line and 53 assists while
AJ Kahlon has blocked a team leading 13 shots.
Andre Jones has 19 steals which leads the team and is 38% shooting from three's also leads the Gators.
Chico State is 8-5 overall and 5-3 in the CCAA, which places the Wildcats in a tie for third place with Sonoma State and UC San Diego. They are averaging 64.4 points per game while giving up 58.9 points per game. Robert Duncan leads the team with his 11.8 scoring average and Jordan Semple is also averaging double digits in scoring at 10.8 points per game.
Cal State Stanislaus is 9-4 overall and 6-2 in the CCAA, which places the Warriors in a tie first place with Cal Poly Pomona. Chris Read leads the team with his 12.5 scoring average followed by Wes Bartole's 10.2 average.
