POMONA – The SF State women's basketball team scored a season-low 16 points in the first half, things did not get much better as the Gators fell to the host Broncos 80-43 Friday evening at Kellogg Gym.

Poor shooting and turnovers plagued the Gators (0-11/0-7 CCAA) early in the game. SF State shot just 6-for-27 in the opening half and started the game 3-for-16 with 10 turnovers.Â
Michelle Sutton tied the game up briefly with a layup with 19:02 on the clock. From there the Broncos (7-4/6-1 CCAA) went on an 18-1 run over the next eight minutes.

In the second half the Gators shooting improved, especially from three point range.Â
CeCe Nguyen led the Gators connecting on three shots from behind the arc to score nine of her team-high 12 points after the intermission.

After the break the Gators connected in 9-of-28 from the floor hitting 32.1 percent. Sutton and
Jasmine Flanagan finished the night with seven points each,
Savannah Camp tallied six while
Liz Wyrsch scored a career-high five points, while adding four rebounds and two assists.

The Gators will return to action tomorrow night when they continue their trip down south to take on UC San Diego at Rimac Arena in La Jolla, Calif. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
