SAN FRANCISCO – The SF State women's volleyball team fell in straight-sets to host No. 22 Sonoma State on Friday evening at the Wolves Den, losing 25-14, 25-18, 25-13. The Gators fall to 10-12/8-7 in the CCAA.
The highlight of the evening belonged to senior outside hitter
Jaclyn Clark. Clark recorded her seventh kill of the night in the second set, giving her 1,000 for her career. She becomes just the sixth player in SF State history to record 1,000 career kills, moreover, she becomes just the third player in SF State history to record 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs. Clark finished the night with a team-high nine kills with seven digs.

Jessica Nicerio tallied a match-high 19 digs on the evening. Setter
Catherine Feathers recorded 23 assists on the night, while middle blocker
Christine Johnson finished the night with three kills, four digs, and two total blocks.
In the opening set the Seawolves took control early, the Gators managed just six kills and hit -.043 in the frame. Sonoma State (17-3/13-1 CCAA) countered hitting .308 in the first set, recording 15 kills. Freshman outside hitter
Chantelle Williams got off to a hot start recording three of her six kills in the set.
In the second frame the Gators looked to rebound, going up 7-2 early in the set. The Seawolves rallied, going on an 11-6 run to tie the set at 13-all. Sonoma State would hang on to take the set 25-18 following an attack error by the Gators.
In the third and final set, the Gators managed just eight kills while hitting into seven errors. On the evening, SF State hit into 21 attack errors. The Seawolves hit .312 in the fame and came out of the break going on a 10-3 lead. Sonoma State would hold on to take the frame and the set 25-13.
Taylor Brownlee finished the night with five kills on the evening,
Samantha Krakower and
Rachel Stoerkel both chipped in a kill.
The Gators wrap up a four-game road trip tomorrow night when they travel to Arcata, Calif., to take on Humboldt State at Lumberjack Arena, first serve is slated for 7:00 p.m.
