CARSON, Calif. – The SF State Gators went a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe in the final 36 seconds to key their 68-63 regular season finale victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills this evening at the Toro Dome in Carson, Calif.
Bren Haley paced the Gators with 15 points including going a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe and
Jon McMurry chipped in 13 points for the victors.

Sam Colmenero,
Bren Haley and
Udun Osakue), said SF State head coach
Paul Trevor. "This was a really nice road win and our guys responded well after last night's tough loss at Cal State L.A."
With the win, the Gators finish the season with an 11-15 overall record including a 9-13 California Collegiate Athletic Association record. SF State finishes in a three-way tie for seventh place with Sonoma State and Cal State Monterey Bay.
Besides Haley and McMurry finishing in double digits,
Andre Jones chipped in 10 points for the Gators.
Darnell Martin paced the Toros (7-21, 3-10 CCAA) with 13 points while Brandon Woods and Ivan Dooley each had 10 points off the bench for the hosts.
An
Andre Jones lay-up off an assist from
Derrick Brown gave the Gators a 14-7 in the first five minutes of the game. SF State increased its lead to 21-10 in the next six minutes capped by a Brown lay-up off an assist from
Floyd Wormley.
Cal State Dominguez Hills went on a 11-2 run to cut the Gator lead on a Martin lay-up, but the guests followed that with a 10-0 run of their own capped by a McMurry three.
The Gators held on to a 39-32 lead heading into halftime as Haley had 11 points and McMurry chipped in 9 for SF State.
A lay-up by
Udun Osakue increased SF State's lead to 51-40 at the 10:33 mark of the second half.
The Toros kept on chipping away at the Gator lead and eventually cut it to 62-60 on two made free throws by Dooley with just 42 seconds showing on the clock.
The Gators were fouled on their next possession and missed both free throws, but Osakue had a key offensive rebound and was fouled. The senior forward connected on his two attempts from the line to give SF State a 64-60 lead.
CSUDH turned the ball over on its next possession and Jones made the Toros connecting on both of his attempts from the charity strip to give SF State a 66-60 lead with just 15 seconds to go in the game.
A three by Brandon Woods cut the Gator lead to 66-63, but it was a little too late as Haley was fouled and sealed the 68-63 Gator win with two free throws.
Besides his 15 points, Haley added five assists to give him 131 on the season which places him 7
th on the Gators' single season assist list. SF State had 16 assists on 24 made baskets with Jones and McMurry each with three to go with Haley's five.
