TURLOCK–   After taking game one 7-5 in extra-innings yesterday afternoon, the Cal State Stanislaus Warriors this afternoon's conference doubleheader from the visiting SF State Gators 8-6 and 6-2 at Warrior Baseball Field in Turlock.  The four-game weekend series will conclude tomorrow afternoon at 1pm at SF State's Maloney Field for a single nine-inning game.
Game OneJust like yesterday afternoon, the Gators took an early lead in the first inning.  
Fernando Escobar reached based with one out as he was hit by a pitch.  He advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on a RBI single by 
Mark Lindsay to give the guests a 1-0 lead.
Cal State Stanislaus tied the game at 1-1 on a run scoring single by Nick Molina in the third inning.  The Warriors took a 4-1 lead with a three-run third inning capped by back-to-back run scoring doubles by Marcus Mastrobuoni and Michael Chavarria. 
SF State retook the lead in its half of the fourth inning with a five-run inning.  
Bryce Cherry had a lead-off walk and went to second on a 
Chad Thurston single.  
Matt Vera reached on a fielder's choice to put runners on first and second with one out.  
Garrett Heisinger loaded the bases with a single to right field.  
Andrew Breen brought in Thurston with a RBI single. With the bases loaded and one out, 
Nick Jackson hit a two-run single to left field to tie the game at 4-4.  Then with two outs, Escobar drove in Breen to give the Gators a 5-4 lead.
Cal State Stanislaus came back though in their half of the fifth with a three-run inning to take a 7-5 lead. The Warriors added an insurance run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Molina to take a 8-5 lead.
SF State (10-15, 9-10 CCAA) did not go away.  Heisinger had a lead-off double and went to third on a wild pitch  Breen walked to put runners on the corners with no outs. 
Jackson singled home Heisinger to cut the Warrior lead to 8-6.  
Jacob Lopez sacrificed Breen and Jackson to second and third with one out.  Then with two outs, the Warriors intentionally walked Lindsay to load the bases.  The Warriors' reliever Aaron Godeniz then struck out the next Gator batter to preserve the Warrior game one 8-6 victory.
Nick Voumard (4-1) recorded the win in the start for the hosts.  He went 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and five runs, walking four and striking out one.  Chris Sauls pitched the eighth inning for the Warriors, giving up one hit and one run while striking out one and walking one. Godinez pitched the ninth en route to his second save, giving up one hit, striking out one and walking one. 
Scott Stetson had three of the Warriors' 11 hits and Molina drove in two of their 8 runs.
Ryan Bohnet (2-4) picked up the loss for SF State.  He pitched six innings, giving up 10 hits and 7 runs (four earned), striking out two and walking one.  
Ryan Romero pitched two innings of relief, giving up two hits and one run while walking two. Jackson finished game one 3 for 4 with three runs batted in while Heisinger had two hits and scored two runs.
Game twoFor the third straight game, the Gators took a 1-0 lead in the first inning.  Escobar had a one-out single and went to second on a wild pitch.  He went to third on a single by Lindsay.  The senior infielder scored on a ground out by 
Chad Thurston.
The Warriors (10-18, 5-13 CCAA) tied the game in the second inning on a run scoring triple by Molina which scored Chavarria.  They took the lead on a two-out single up the middle by Mastrobuoni in the third.  Erik Colombini's two-run home run in the fourth increased their lead to 4-1.
SF State had a chance to cut into its deficit in the fifth inning.  Breen reached on a fielding error by the Warriors with two outs.  He went to second when Jackson walked.  Escobar had an infield single to load the bases, but Tyler Murphy induced the next Gator to fly out to center to keep the score 4-1 Warriors. Mastoubuoni had another run scoring single in the fifth to give the Warriors  5-1 lead.
SF State cut into the Warrior lead in the sixth.  
Chad Thurston walked to lead off the inning and went to third on a throwing error as Heisinger reached on a fielder's choice.  Thurston scored on a sacrifice fly by 
Jacob Lopez.  With one out, Cherry reached on another Warrior error by Murphy (2-4) induced an inning ending double play.
Cal State Stanislaus added another run in the sixth to take a 6-2 lead heading into the Gator seventh. 
In the Gator seventh, Jackson walked with one out but SF State grounded into another double play as the Warriors swept the doubleheader 6-2.
Murphy recorded the win in the start, going 7 innings, giving up four hits and two runs (one earned), striking out three and walking three.  Mastroubuoni went 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Colombini drove in two runs and scored twice.
Peter Reyes (2-4) picked up the loss in the start for SF State, pitching five innings of six-hit ball, giving up five runs (four earned), striking out two and walking two.  
Matthew Hernandez pitched a scoreless sixth for the Gators.
Escobar had three of the Gators four hits, who are now in sixth place in the CCAA.
