@SFState_MSOC Falls in 2OT 2-1 at Humboldt State

ARCATA, Calif.  – Humboldt State's Cameron Spencer connected on a ball from Humberto Alvarez for the golden goal in Humboldt State's 2-1 victory over the visiting San Francisco State Gators in the 104th minute this afternoon in a rainy CCAA match in Arcata.  This was the Gators' fourth overtime match of the season and second straight double overtime match.

The Lumberjacks (4-6-1, 2-5 CCAA) scored first in the 21st minute when Trice Smith connected on an unassisted goal.  The hosts did not hold the lead that long as seven minutes later, Richard Leon scored his 6th goal of the season to tie the match at 1-1.

The match remained tied at 1-1 until the 103rd minute when Spencer connected on the golden goal off a ball from Alvarez.  Emmanuel Jimenez had 6 saves in goal for the Gators, who are now 6-6-1 overall and 3-5-1 in the CCAA.

The Gators will return to the pitch as they will travel to Santa Rosa, Calif., this Sunday at 11:30am for a CCAA match with Sonoma State at Santa Rosas Junior College.  The Seawolves defeated the Cal State Monterey Bay Otters 2-1 earlier this afternoon in Petaluma.
