@SFState_MSOC Snaps Streak in 1-0 Win at No. 12 CSULA

LOS ANGELES.--  Richard Leon connected on a punt from San Francisco State goalkeeper Emmanuel Jimenez with just eight seconds left in the match to give the visitors a 1-0 victory over the No. 12 Cal State L.A. Golden Eagles.   The Gators snapped the Golden Eagles' nine-match unbeaten streak.
 
San Francisco State (6-4, 3-3 CCAA) looked like it was going to take the lead late in the first half when James Aguirre had two chances to give the Gators the lead sail high and wide. 
 
The Golden Eagles (5-1-3, 3-1 CCAA) had three chances late in the match for the game-winner including two that were stopped by Jimenez one of the foot of Tim Klefisch and the other off of Samuel Croucher's foot.  Then with just 8 seconds left, Jimenez punted the ball to Leon for the game-winner.
 
MATCH NOTES:
 
GAME-WINNER:  Richard Leon scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season including his third game-winner this afternoon.  The freshman also leads the team with three game-winners.
 
NOT JUST SAVES FOR THIS GOALKEEPER:  Emmanuel Jimenez recorded four saves including two key stops late in the match for his fourth shutout of the season.  The senior goalkeeper also recorded his first assist  of the season on Leon's game-winner.  This was his second assist in his collegiate career in a Gator uniform. 
 
STREAKS SNAPPED:  Two streaks were snapped this afternoon in the Gators' win.  San Francisco State snapped their three-match losing streak while Cal State L.A. had its 8-match unbeaten streak snapped by the Gators.
 
1-0 MATCHES:  San Francisco State is now 3-4 in 1-0 matches, the Gators had lost their last threestraight 1-0 matches including Friday afternoon's loss at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
 
0.59:  The Gators are allowing just 0.59 goals a match this season as they have allowed 6 goals in 10 matches in 909:14 of action.
