LOS ANGELES.--Â Danielle Telles connected on a penalty kick with just 14 minutes left in today's conference match to give the Cal State L.A. Golden Eagles the 1-0 victory over the visiting San Francisco State Gators.

This was the second penalty kick attempted by the Golden Eagles (5-2-2, 4-0 CCAA), which had their first one stopped by the Gators'
Christina Holguin in the 38
th minute. The Gators (5-3-3, 2-2-2 CCAA) had four chances in the final 30 minutes to put the ball into the back of the net.Â
Hanna Ghamari and
Kimber Lohman each had their shot on goal attempts stopped by the Golden Eagles' Adriana Maldonado in the 60
th minute. The other two chances came off the foot of
Taylor Halstenson and
Morgan Rhym, which each went wide or high.

San Francisco State will return home for the first time in two weeks this Friday, October 7 at 12:30pm, when the Gators host the No. 8 UC San Diego Tritons.Â

th minute. Earlier in the match, the Gators' Chrsitine Holgquin stopped a penalty kick attempt by Anahie Duran.

HOLGUIN: Christina Holguin recorded four saves in goal for the Gators. For the season, she has 31 saves in goal for San Francisco State while posting a 0.41 goals against average with 5 shutouts.Â

HAD THEIR CHANCES: San Francisco State had 6 shot on goal attempts this afternoon in their 1-0 loss, which was their second straight 1-0 loss. The Gators are 2-2 in 1-0 matches this season.

BACK HOME: The Gators will return home this coming weekend for a pair of conference matches at Cox Stadium. They will host No. 8 UC San Diego this Friday, October 7 at 12:30pm. Then on Sunday, October 9 at 11:30am, Cal State San Marcos will come to town for a conference match.Â
