@SFState_WSOC Falls in Double Overtime to Pioneers

SAN FRANCISCO---  Cal State East Bay's Tia Sidtikun scored her fourth goal and second of the game, which was a golden goal, to give the visiting Pioneers a 2-1 double overtime win over the San Francisco State Gators.  The Gators will now have to defeat the Stanislaus State Warriors this Saturday in order to clinch a berth in the CCAA Soccer Championships, which start on November 1.

The Pioneers (4-10-3, 3-8 CCAA) took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute when Sidtukin connected on a cross from Jessey Santos.  The match remained 1-0 visitors until 20 minutes left in regulation, when Natasha Gosiaco connected on a corner kick from Kelsey Wetzstein for the tying goal. 

San Francisco State (8-6-3, 4-5-2 CCAA) had chance to take the lead late in regulation, but Tayler Halstenson's shot was blocked by the Pioneer defense to send the match into overtime. In the first overtime, the Pioneers had 5 shot attempts to the Gators one, but neither team recorded a shot on goal attempt. Then just 34 seconds into the second overtime, Sidtikun connected on the golden goal for the guests

TIED FOR TEAM LEAD:  Natasha Gosaico scored her fifth goal of the season as she is now tied with Sierra Sagasta for the team lead in goals.  Kimber Lohman is next on the team with her four goals

ASSISTING AWAY:  Kelsey Wetzstein assisted on her first goal of the season, which gives her 14 for the season which ties her sixth on the Gators' career list.

OUTSHOT THE PIONEERS:  The Gators outshot the Pioneers 23-15 and also held a 4-2 corner kick advantage, but Cal State East Bay won the scoreboard battle 2-1.

FINAL ONE:  The Gators will one more match left in the regular season.  They will host Stanislaus State this Saturday, October 29 at 11:30am.  Prior to the match the Gators will recognize their 14 seniors at 11:05am in a ceremony on the pitch.
