@SFState_MBB heads to Cal State San Marcos

SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco State men's basketball team only has one game this week after splitting a pair of games last week. The Gators head to Cal State San Marcos on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m.
 
After a record-setting seven consecutive weeks in the NABC NCAA Division II men's baketball rankings, the Gators dropped out after last week's 69-68 loss at Cal State San Berardino. The Gators, who also beat Sonoma State 80-65 at home, are 15-3 overall and 8-3 in the CCAA.
 
The Gators are holding their opponents to 38.1 percent from the field, which ranks second in the nation and tops in the CCAA, and allow just 65.8 points per contest, which is fifth best in the CCAA. Offensively, SF State ranks third in the CCAA with a scoring offense of 78.6 points per game. The Gator's 79.2 percent free throw shooting also leads the CCAA and is fifth in the nation.

The Climb to 100 Wins
Seventh year head coach Paul Trevor is four wins away from his 100 career victory as a head coach. Trevor enters this week with a 97-83 record.  Trevor will become the fourth coach in San Francisco State history to reach the 100-win plateau, and is on pace to become the fastest coach in SF State history to achieve 100 career wins.

Warren Jackson dropped 25 points and dished out five assists in the Gators' victory over Sonoma State. The junior guard is averaging 15.8 points per game and 4.1 assists per game, both of which rank fifth in the CCAA.
 
Gators on the Road
SF State is 7-2 away from campus this season. The Gators' most recent loss came in the form of a one-point loss at Cal State Bernardino. The Gators' only other road loss came to Chico State on Dec. 31.

The Coyotes enter Wednesday night's contest with an overall record of 13-6 and are in fifth place in the CCAA at 8-4. The Cougars had their six-game winning streak snapped in a 106-100 loss at Cal State San Bernardino on Jan. 21.
 
Who To Watch
Four Cougars are averaging double digits, led by junior guard Ethan Alvano's 17.3 points per game. Junior forward Joe Boyd is averaging a double-double (13.7 ppg, 10.4 rpg).
