HAYWARD, Calif. — The San Francisco State baseball team took the first game of the four-game series at Cal State East Bay on Friday, 7-0.
Winners of three of their last five games, the Gators took control early.
Jacob Lopez led the game off with a walk, advanced on
Bryce Brooks' single, and scored on
Cole Lang's sacrifice fly. Brooks scored on
Jordan Abernathy's RBI double to left center and

Lang added another RBI in the second with a bases-loaded fielder's choice. After
Zac Neumann walked and stole second, Lopez drove a 1-1 pitch to left field to make it a 7-0 game in the fourth.
Matthew Hernandez was perfect through the first four innings en route to his third win of the season. The senior tallied a pair of strikeouts in seven and a third innings of work and held the Pioneers to just three hits and two walks.
Cy Vojak finished things off with one and two third innings of one-hit ball.
