ROHNERT PARK, Calif. — The San Francisco State men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday, 75-55, to Concordia (Calif.) in the Ron Logsdon Basketball Classic hosted by Sonoma State.
- A day after allowing just 47 total points, the Gators surrendered 47 in the first half on Saturday.
- CUI made 16 three-pointers and used 13 in the first half to build an insurmountable lead.
- Ryne Williams led the Gators with 10 points. Chiefy Ugbaja led all players with 10 rebounds.
- San Francisco State turned the ball over 21 times, the most by the program since committing 20 in a win on January 14, 2017.
- Niquis Garland dished out a career-high seven assists in the loss.
- Kayle Knuckles led all players with 20 points for the Eagles.
Ugbaja gave San Francisco State an early lead with four quick points but the Eagles opened on a 17-4 run in the first five minutes. A later 10-0 run gave the Eagles a 25-point lead, which grew as to large as 31.
San Francisco State outscored Concordia in the second half and held CUI to 11-of-32 (34.4 percent), including just 3-of-15 (20 percent) from deep.
