SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco State men's basketball team won its regular season finale, 72-60, over Humboldt State on Senior Night.
The Gators (18-10/14-8 CCAA) and the Lumberjacks (9-19/6-16 CCAA) headed into halftime tied 34-34 but the Gators never trailed in the second half and outscored their opponents by a dozen in the final 20 minutes. An
Evan Zeller three-pointer kicked off an 8-0 run and a 7-0 run a few minutes later opened the game up.
Ryne Williams' layup made it a 13-point Gators lead with 11 minutes to go.
Zeller led SF State with a 20-point performance in his last home game for the Gators. The sharpshooter went a career-best 6-of-9 from deep. Fellow senior
Brantley Bynum added 19 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Warren Jackson scored five points and dished out five assists. Senior
Jash Kahlon added a bucket and an assist.
Chiefy Ugbaja came off the bench for 11 points and Williams finished the night with seven.
The Gators shot the ball well from deep and ended the night 11-of-21 (52.4) and 50 percent (29-of-58) from the floor. The Gators also cleaned up on the boards 33-23.
Kameron Curl led HSU with a game-high 21 points with four three-pointers. Justin Everett added 10 points. Davasyia Hagger scored eight points and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.
