POMONA, Calif. — Three San Francisco State men's basketball players have been named to the 2017-18 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Basketball All-Conference Team.
Brantley Bynum and
Warren Jackson were named to the First Team and
Evan Zeller garnered Honorable Mention.
Bynum has appeared averages a team-high 15.9 points – which is also third-highest in the CCAA, a team-high 6.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.0 steal per game in all 29 games for the Gators.
The Visalia, California had three consecutive career nights, which culminated in a career-high 28 points in a January 20 win over Cal State Monterey Bay. Bynum is also shooting at in impressive 56.1 percent (171-of-305) from the field. The senior forward has also been named CCAA Player of the Week three times this season. He grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds in Tuesday night's CCAA Championships Quaterfinals double-overtime win at Cal State San Marcos
Jackson nabbed his third All-CCAA honor and second First Team nod. The Detroit native is averaging 14.3 points per game and 44.2 percent from the field. The
Street & Smith's Yearbook and
Basketball Times Preseason All-American Honorable Mention scored his 1,000th career point on January 5 and currently stands fifth all-time on the Gators' career list at 1,210. The senior guard scored a season-high 27 points on January 13 in a win at Cal State LA.
Zeller, who was recently named
CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team® for the second time in his career, has earned All-CCAA accolades for the third time in his career. The Mission Viejo, California native has appeared in all 29 games and is averaging 14.1 points per game in 31.5 minutes of action, and is shooting 36.5 percent from deep. At the beginning of the season, he was named PacWest/CCAA Tournament MVP. He has appeared in all 29 of the Gators' games this season and currently stands at 1,318 career points. He is coming off a career-high 29 points with eight three-pointers in Tuesday's playoff win.
