SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco State men's soccer team moved to 2-0 on the season with a 3-0 victory at Notre Dame de Namur on Sunday afternoon.
The Golden Gators (2-0-0) and Argonauts (1-1-0) both took nine shots and each fired seven shots. NDNU held a slight 7-6 corner kick advantage.
San Francisco State put the pressure on from the get-go.
Moses Gutierrez, who scored the first goal in San Francisco State's 2-0 opener, had a shot in the second minute saved. In the 20th minute, Gutierrez settled a deflection and assisted
Aydan Bowers, who finished with a shot over goalkeeper Javier Santana's head.
Crinan Dunbar played a ball down the left side that Carlos Trujeque leal tracked down and fired to the far post to double the lead in the 53rd minute. In the 68th minute, Tariqu Pulskamp put the game out of reach with a header off of a corner kick from Gustav Fink. San Francisco State goalkeeper Peter Swinkels moved to 2-0 on the season with six saves and another shutout.
Head Coach Javier Ayala-Hil: "We had a complete performance today with contributions up and down the roster. The team played well both offensively and defensively and I'm glad that we were able to get the result against a good NDNU squad."
