A  Lesa-Hardee triple began the scoring, and Lamonea followed with a splash of her own off an assist from fellow freshman Lesa-Hardee to widen the lead. Stephens and Palmer kept the rally going with baskets to put the Purple and Gold up 10-3, and Lamonea added another three-pointer, this time from the left side to make it a 13-7 advantage with 4:39 left in the first. Taisia Fleming added to the score column on a jumper near the top of the key off a dish from Amani Alexander for the nine-point lead. Sonoma State bounced back ended the first on an 11-0 run, which was capped off by a three-pointer by Sophie Northern at the buzzer, to go up 19-17 for their first lead of the afternoon.

Second Quarter

Madison Corder ended the Seawolf run with a layup that made it a one-point deficit. Lamonea continued her sharp shooting from deep as she tied it up, 22-all, with 7:54 left in the first half, and she later put the Gators up four after grabbing the offensive board and hitting the jumper. Sonoma State bounced back after Aaryn Pickett made a three and Taylor Todd followed with a layup for the 29-27 lead midway through the second.
