Set One

The Broncos came out to a 7-3 lead on a four-point run, and that lead was pushed to 10-4 before a service error regained the Gator serve. Pomona continued their strong offensive play to go up 12-5, and were hitting .462 with seven kills up to that point. Out of the break, Johnson recorded a booming kill for her first of the night. The Bronco lead was extended to nine before Morris got on the board off a dish from Jensen. Morris would go back-to-back that cut it to seven, 20-13. Facing set point, Johnson kept SF State alive with another booming kill that bounced off the Bronco backline, and Trinity Barr and Sophie Anderson followed with a block. The rally continued with Haynie's first swing of the contest and Pomona called a timeout up seven. Out of the break, Jazmine Parrish put it away with her second kill for the 25-17 win.

Set Two

A Haynie kill to the back corner put the Gators on the board in the second, and the junior would add another to cut it to one, 5-4. Consecutive Barr kills made it a one-point game yet again, and Haynie leveled the score, 11-all, with her fifth of the evening. Haynie would nick the line  to give SF State its first lead of the night and the Broncos called a timeout. A 7-1 run, featuring an ace by Anderson, put the hosts up 16-12 and the Broncos called another timeout. Leading 20-17, Haynie added another powerful kill, her eighth of the night, but back-to-back Bronco blocks cut it to two, 21-19. Consecutive kills by Daisy Duke and one by Ally Wilder regained the one-point lead for the Broncos. Another block and Gator miscue completed the comeback win, capped off with an 8-1 run, for Pomona as they took a 2-0 match lead.
