SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco State women's soccer team was held quiet in a 3-0 loss to Chico State on Sunday afternoon at Cox Stadium.
- After winning back-to-back matches, the Gators (2-5-1/0-3 CCAA) have dropped their last four matches.
- The Wildcats (7-2-1/3-1 CCAA) outshot the Gators 10-5(6-3).
- Both teams attempted a pair of corner kicks.
The Wildcats set the tone early with goal at the 10-minute mark by Susanna Garcia, who put the rebound out of the reach of goalkeeper Hayley Garriott. The Wildcats doubled their first-half lead in the 23rd minute. Sarah Emigh's shot was followed by Mackenzie Gill to make it 2-0.
Emelie Peraza added a goal in the 66th minute to make it 3-0.
SF State had a trio of shots on goal – all in the final ten minutes – by Summer Langsam, Matilda Cassel-Ledin, and Glory Smith.
Garriott made three saves and allowed a pair of goals in her first start for the Gators. Chico State's Victoria Graham stopped all three balls that came her direction.
The Gators will begin a two-match road trip to Southern California to face Cal State San Marcos on Friday, October 11 and to UC San Diego on Sunday, October 13.
