ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The San Francisco State women's basketball team fell to host No. 16 Alaska Anchorage, 110-82, to wrap up D2 West Coast Classic action on Sunday.
- Muirae Gomez had 21 points to lead SF State (0-2) and went 10-of-13 from the floor. Jolene Armendariz had 14 points and eight rebounds to go with three steals. Taimane Lesa-Hardee also had 14 points and had a career-high four three-pointers.Â
- Ashley Hart dished out six assists, Madison Corder added seven rebounds.
- The Gators shot 47 percent in the game, including 50 percent in the second half in which they scored 49 points.Â

Lesa-Hardee got the Gators on the board with a deep three. Following a Seawolf run that brought their lead to ten, Armendez hit from deep to get in the score column. Giselle Mahinay knocked down a nice jumper and Kelea Pickeral-Dennis followed with a bucket from just outside the paint in the closing minutes. The hosts utilized good shot selection in the first quarter, going 58 percent from the field and 71 percent from range, to carry a 30-16 lead into the second.Â
Corder hit two from the line to start the third, but Alaska Anchorage kept rolling with another three and a layup to push their lead to 17. With just under six left in the half, Hart drove down the court and dished to Gomez at the post who completed the transition basket for her first points of the night. Gomez would add another nice basket as she got the pass from Samantha Erisman and worked through some defenders for the finish in the paint to give SF State 28 points. The Seawolves got a layup with six seconds remaining in the half to carry a 54-33 into the locker room.
Lesa-Hardee began the third with a nice layup in transition and Pickeral-Dennis added a pair of free throws. Erisman drove to the basket with seven left in the quarter and got the layup and the foul to make it 60-43. Lesa-Hardee put a move on the defender at the top of the arc and drained her second three-pointer of the contest to give SF State three field goals in their last four attempts. Armendariz knocked down her second three from the right side and Hart followed with a layup to cut it to 70-56. Erisman continued the 10-2 run with two from the charity stripe that cut it to 14.
Gomez made a nice move in the post for her fourth basket of the night. She would add two more layups off assists from Hart as the Gators looked to mount a comeback, but the hosts were able to answer from beyond the arc and work their way to the line as the kept building a lead. Lesa-Hardee added two more triples as she reached 14 points in the game, but the Seawolves continued to roll as they remained perfect on the season.Â
