ARCATA, Calif. — Two days after defeating the No. 2 team in the nation, the San Francisco State men's soccer team settled for a road trip split with a forgettable 7-1 loss at Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday afternoon at Kellogg Stadium.
- SF State (10-4/6-4 CCAA) dropped back-to-back matches for just the first time this season and for the first time dating back to September 21 and 23 of last season.
- HSU held a 16-13(8-5) shot advantage.
- The Gators picked up three of the four yellow cards in the contest.
The Gators took the lead just before halftime in the 42nd minute when Brandon Sands connected with Jonathan Orozco, who placed the ball over the goalkeeper's head for his fourth score of the season.
The lead held until the 57th minute when Isaiah Dairo scored his 10th goal of the season, an equalizer over the goalkeeper's head. Marco Silveira scored the go-ahead goal in the 64th minute and Dalton Rice added an insurance goal in the 71st.
Peter Swinkels made five saves and allowed all three HSU goals. Tab Heinz allowed one goal and made four saves.
SF State returns home for the final two regular season matches of the season versus Cal State LA on Thursday, November 7 and Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday, Novemer 9.
