SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco State softball team continued it's strong play on Friday by winning their eighth straight as they dropped the Cal State Monterey Bay Otters, 4-3 (8) and 7-1.
- The pair of wins gives SF State (28-15/21-12 CCAA) its most CCAA wins since 2004. Two more CCAA wins will tie the program record for most in a season.
- The Gators have 106 stolen bases on the season, which is the second-most in program history, just behind the 125 they tallied last season.
- Michelle Castro added two doubles on the day, giving her 31 for her career which is the sixth-most all-time in program history. The senior batted in a pair in both game while adding two hits in game two.
- Brylynn Vallejos also added two RBI and stole her 30th base of the season, which is the third-most in a season in Gator history. Her 71 hits are tied for the third-most in program history in a season.
- Sydney Jenkins went 2-for-3 in the opener and added two runs scored. The catcher threw out two more base runners to increase her CCAA-leading total to 18, which is the most by a Gator in the last six seasons.
- Karla Soto added two more wins on the year and now sits at 14-4. Her 24 career wins are the tenth most in Gator history.
- The win streak is the longest since 2016.
GAME ONE
- SF State jumped ahead 3-0 in the third, which started with Jenkins' single to left and Vallejos following with a walk. Andrea Hildan advanced the pair with a nice sacrifice bunt, and the duo quickly scored as Castro doubled to right. Katelyn Sturm then plated Castro with a base hit up the middle.

- The visitors tied it up in the sixth with Jones scoring from third on a double steal to tie it up.
- In the eighth, Nina Revoir led off with a walk and was replaced by pinch runner Latrice Thompson. Sturm reached on a throwing error by the catcher as she tried to lay down the bunt, and Thompson went to third on the play. Hayley Nunes was intentionally walked to load the bases, bringing up Lehua DeLeon, who hit the ball to short but Thompson's speed was too much as she beat the throw for the win.
- Emily Mitchell got the start and threw five innings. Soto tossed three with no earned and just two hits.
GAME TWO
- Vallejos led off reaching on a hit-by-pitch and stole second. She scored the first run as Castro hit a bloop single to left for the early advantage. Castro then stole third easily and scored on a wild pitch for the 2-0 lead.
- In the top of the second, Jones hit a RBI single to left to make it 2-1.
- Nunes led off the second with a walk and went to second on DeLeon's base hit to left. Alvarez sacrificed them both up to second and third, and Jenkins plated Nunes with a single to deep short. Vallejos then cleared the bases with a double to deep center to make it a 5-1 lead.
- In the fourth, Jenkins reached on a fielding error by the third baseman and stole second. With one down she went to third on a passed ball. Hildan beat out a bunt single to score Jenkins, and Castro doubled to left to score HIldan to make it 7-1.
