By the Numbers

  • The game one win gives SF State (29-16/22-13 CCAA) its ninth-straight win, which is the longest streak since 2005 when they won 11 straight.
  • The 12-inning affair is the longest game since 2016 when they played 14 innings against Cal State San Marcos. It is also the first time since that aforementioned series that SF State played two extra inning games on the same day.
  • SF State is now in third place in the CCAA standings and lead the conference in total wins.
  • The Gators now have 264 total runs scored, 255 RBI and 109 stolen bases on the year, all of which are the second most in program history. The 29 wins are tied for the sixth-most in Gator history.
  • Emily Mitchell tied a season high with seven strikeouts in game one.
  • Brylynn Vallejos went 3-for-5 in game one and added another hit in game two to bring her season total to 75. She trails the all-time record for most hits in a season by eight. Her 30 stolen bases this season are the second-most in a season by a Gator, trailing teammate Michelle Castro who owns the record with 45 which she set last season.
  • Nina Revoir added two hits and two RBI in game one and added another pair of hits in game two for her 12th multi hit game this season.
  • Andrea Hildan scored three total runs on the day. Lehua DeLeon went 2-for-3 in game two with two scored and batted in, which came on her first collegiate home run.

How They Scored
  • The Otters (22-20/18-14 CCAA) took a 1-0 lead in the first as Courtney Henning singled home Marissa Hukkanen.
  • SF State tied it up in the bottom half as Castro singled to center with two down, stole second and went to third on the throw. Revoir's base hit to right plated the senior to tie things up, 1-1.
  • In the second,  Hildan led off with a single to left and DeLeon followed with a base hit to short. Alvarez sacrificed the pair over, and Vallejos was intentionally walked two batters later. Hayley Nunes wore one on her elbow as Hildan scored for a 2-1 lead.
  • Vallejos singled up the middle in the fifth and Nunes walked. With one down Revoir singled to center to score Vallejos from second as SF State now lead 3-1.
  • Monterey Bay made it a one-run game in the sixth with Hayley Fein singling to right and Hennings just sliding under the tag to make it 3-2.
  • Monterey Bay tied it up with two down in the seventh as Luis Stanley tripled to right and Hennings singled her home.
  • Finally in the 12th, Nunes led off with a single and Castro was hit by a pitch. Revoir attempted to move the pair up but the first baseman's throw sailed high and Nunes was able to score the winning run.
