By the Numbers
  • The Gators (2-1-1) notched back-to-back wins and took advantage of an NDNU (1-1-1) squad that was without All-PacWest forward Susan Whitney, who left the Argonauts' previous contest with an injury.
  • After being outshot 8-5 in the first half, SF State changed shape and put the pressure on NDNU. In the next 45 minutes, SF State outshot the Argos 11-3.
  • The Gators were also the more physical team and were whistled for 18 fouls compared to seven for NDNU.
  • Twenty-one different Gators saw action and recorded at least nine minutes.

How They Scored

NDNU took an early lead in the 18th minute on Samantha Sanchez's goal. Katelyn Patterson, who scored twice in the Gators' 3-1 win over ART U on Wednesday, knotted the game at 1-1 in the 33rd minute. In the second half, Patterson gave the Gators the lead for good when she scored in the 60th minute. Sydney Yuen played a ball in from the left side to Patterson, who headed in the cross on the right side. In the 63rd minute, Carly Ortega scored her first career goal when she beat the goalkeeper 1v1 at the top of box. In the 73rd minute, Kylie Schneider scored her second goal of the season when the Gators intercepted a ball of a free kick. The sophomore raced down the left side of the field and finished a 1v1 to make it 4-1. She nearly made it 5-1 a minute later but missed a 1v1 just wide right.
