GOLDEN, Colo. — The San Francisco State women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of the No. 15 Colorado School of Mines on Sunday.
The Orediggers (2-0) outshot the Gator (0-1-1) 24-7, including three in the first 10 minutes. SF State's defense blocked the first shot and goalkeeper
Sommer Harrington made a save on the first ball she saw in the sixth minute but less than a minute later, the Orediggers converted on Jordan Barnhart's goal. The Gators' first shot attempt came in the 31st minute but
Katelyn Patterson's shot went wide.
Karla Ramos' first of three shots was saved in the final minute of the half.
In the 52nd minute, Mines doubled its lead on Chaney Brugman's ball to Emi Higgins. Ramos fired a shot wide in the 72nd minute and Kyle Schneider's shot in the 76th minute was saved. Ramos had another shot in the 89th minute that was saved as well. Harrington did what she could to keep it close and finished with a career-high nine saves.
The Gators have will return home to San Francisco for their next two home matches, September 11 vs. Academy of Art and September 13 vs. Notre Dame de Namur. Live stats and video will be available at
