SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Madison Corder recorded back-to-back double-doubles with a career-high 23 points and 11 rebounds but the San Francisco State women's basketball team was denied a season sweep of Cal State San Bernardino in an 84-58 road loss.
- The Gators (1-18/1-15 CCAA) split the season meetings 1-1 with the Coyotes (3-15/3-12 CCAA) with both teams winning their home game.
- Corder played all 40 minutes, as did guards Taimane Lesa-Hardee and Jarecxy Privado. Tesa-Hardee added 16 points and Privado also had a career-high with 14 points on four three-pointers.
- SF State had its best three-point performance of the year, going 8-of-18 (44.4 percent) from behind the arc.
- Tehya Burroughs and Ashlynn Sharp led the Charge for the Coyotes with 20 points apiece. Emily Herring had a double-double with 14 and 10 rebounds.
- CSUSB won the rebounding battle, 43-27.
CSUSB led wire-to-wire and the Gators trailed by as much as 10 in the first quarter. Privado had a hot first quarter with nine points, all on three-pointers. A Corder bucket with under two minutes to go kept it a two-possession ballgame but the Gators trailed 23-16 at the end of the first period.
CSUSB outscored SF State 19-13 in the second quarter and 19-14 in the third. The Gators finished strong in the fourth quarter, going 6-of-13 (46.2 percent). Still, CSUSB's lead grew to as many as 29 in the final seconds. The Coyotes shot 50 percent in the second and third quarters, and bested the Gators in the fourth quarter, going 60 percent (9-of-15) from the field.
The Gators only have one game next week, on Saturday, February 8 at Sonoma State. The game will be streamed on the CCAA Network and live stats will also be available at sfstategators.com.
