How it Happened

SF State trailed 19-13 at the end of the first quarter but stormed back to take a 33-32 halftime lead. Sonoma State took as large as a nine-point lead in the third and led by seven at the end of the period. The Gators outscored the Seawolves 28-22 in the paint but didn't get a stop when they needed it most. Gomez gave SF State a two-point lead with 19 seconds to go in regulation but the Seawolves came up with an offensive rebound and out of a timeout, Zane Sheckherd laid it in to tie the game at 60-60 and send things into overtime. However, the Gators only had six healthy and saw those six post significant minutes and were outscored 17-6 in the final five minutes.
