  • On Thursday, Brylynn Vallejos the NFCA announced that the sophomore has been selected to the "Watch List" for the 2020 Schutt Sports / NFCA Division II National Player and Pitcher of the Year award. One of two Gators to start all 11 games thus far, Vallejos is batting .353 with 10 runs, nine walks, and 13 stolen bases.

How They Scored

  • The Gators scored twice, both unearned. SF State took the early lead when Brylynn Vallejos reached on an error at shortstop that allowed Samantha Luckie to score but SF State left the bases loaded.
  • SF State doubled its lead in the seventh. Lehua Deleon's contact to third was misplayed, which allowed Sydney Jenkins to score from third.
  • The lead held until the bottom of the seventh. With one out, Sky Linanne pinch hit a pinch-hit home run. The Seawolves (5-6/4-2 CCAA) followed with a single and a walk. The Gators got a groundball for a fielder's choice and the second out but another walk loaded the bases and Jordyn Martinez made SF State pay with the game-winning two-run double.

  • Emily Mitchell (3-2) cruised through the first six innings and scattered five hits. A runner didn't reach third until things went haywire in the seventh. Poised for the win, she issued a pair of walks and give up three hits, and was instead charged with the loss.
  • Nalani Scates (1-4) ended up with the win for the Seawolves. She allowed two runs on eight hits.

  • SF State answered in the fourth. Michelle Castro singled, stole second, moved up on a fly ball, then scored on a fielder's choice.
  • The lead was short-lived. Cassidy Romano's two-out homer in the bottom of the fourth put the Seawolves back in front.
  • SF State had runners on second and third with one out in the sixth but failed to score. Instead, SSU added an insurance run with a sac fly in the bottom half of the frame.
