SAN MARCOS, Calif. — The San Francisco State women's soccer team suffered its first CCAA loss of the season on Sunday, a 1-0 decision versus host Cal State San Marcos at The Cage.
- The Gators' record falls to 4-6-1/2-1-1 CCAA while the Cougars improve to 5-1-2/1-1-2 CCAA.
- The Gators slip into a three-way tie for third place in the CCAA standings with seven points. They are tied with Chico State and Cal State Monterey Bay.
- Cal State San Marcos outshot the Gators 9-5, including 6-3 shots on goal.
- The Cougars had a 5-0 corner kick advantage, marking the first time this season the Gators haven't earned a corner kick.
- Alyna Flores, Emily Fraye, and Sydney Vidos attempted SF State's three shots on goal.
Cal State San Marcos scored the match's only goal in the 69th minute when Devyn Kelley connected with Alyssa Sanchez for her first goal of the season.
SF State goalkeeper Marcella Salyer turned back five shots but allowed the goal. Still, her goals against average dropped to 1.19. She currently has a .767 save percentage. Allison Macure made three saves for the Cougars en route to the shutout.
