How it Happened

It was all offense in the first quarter as the Gators shot 66.7 from the field. Back-to-back jumpers from Muirae Gomez and Tierra Snipes gave the Gators the largest lead of the quarter at 20-11.

The Hawks came back within three in the second quarter. Coming out of a timeout at 8:18, Armendariz banked a three to put the Gators up 27-21. A 6-0 run highlighted by back-to-back baskets by Armendariz gave the Gators a 41-26 lead at the half.

The Gators offense slowed down in the third quarter, but SF State played crisp defense as they outscored the Hawks 14-6 in the quarter. SF State stole the ball seven times during that frame with Mckinnie and Lesa-Hardee each recording two.

The Hawks hung with the Gators and got within 13 late in the game, but the Gators had built too much of a cushion for the Hawks to come back from.
